At The Daily Northwestern, I am a staff writer that writes for all desks. I have served multiple desks as an assistant, but love going out and reporting, the most. I have reported more than 35 stories on topics ranging from financial concerns for RAs to a one-handed football player on our team.

In my senior year, I co-authored a 177-page photo-history book of my high school, Poly Prep Country Day School. The book tells the story of the physical evolution of the school. My co-author Michael and I took on every step of the process from sourcing old images from 1914 school newspapers to laying out the book on InDesign. It was a taxing but extremely rewarding process.
What initially drew me to journalism was a love and curiosity for other people and their stories. Through reading journalists such as Studs Terkel and Brandon Stanton’s work I gained an understanding of the power of storytelling I aimed to emulate with stories on my own community. I started a series called Get to Know, highlighting the diversity of people and interests at my high school, as well as The Community Project which told stories of the importance of community through Brooklyn’s workers through both writing and photography.
